Welcome to a day in my life. I can't guarantee that this will be an exciting read for anyone. My life is filled with all the mundane activities of a stay-at-home-mom just trying to raise her three sons to be the best men they can be.

Playing catch-up, again.

Am I the only one who hates May and June? It seems that all I do is manage everyone's calendars, running everyone everywhere, and worry that we're missing some event. There are wrap-up parties for everything that everyone is involved in. baseball has started up for John (which for me means that there's one less person to help manage all the events), tons of concerts (and I mean tons!) making sure all the last minute assignments are done properly and handed in ( no one is really interested in school work anymore - so it's like pulling teeth), outdoor work, indoor work, lots of money flying around everywhere (except into my wallet), end of the year appointments and meetings, and all I want to do is sleep. It's the same every year, I know. As I moan away to myself, I have to say that I really feel for all those moms out there who are doing all I do, and trying to manage their full-time jobs on top of it. Now that's a big job!

I don't want to bore you all with all the mundane activities going on around here (even though I just did, LOL) but there are a few exciting events that have gone on, or will be going on in the next couple of weeks:
-Graduation ceremonies will be happening on June 28th for Cameron. He's graduating from grade 8 and moving onto high school.
-Spencer's graduation from high school is on June 29th. I think this is going to be a tough one for me.
-the big Canada's Wonderland trip for the school band is on Friday. 12 hours of fun, fun, fun! I'm still waiting to hear if my services are needed as a parent-volunteer.
-I spent the night in the emergency department on Sunday night after experiencing some pain behind my shoulder blade, in my chest, and numb hands. All the tests showed that there was no cardiac event, or blood clot in my lung. It sounds like a pinched nerve or something like that. I still have pain, but it's slowly getting better
-Spencer has is graduation prom next Friday. He told me on Monday that he decided to go. Now we have to scramble to find something to wear.
-Matt hasn't had any luck finding a job ... I don't know, but I think it might have something to do with the fact that he hasn't APPLIED ANYWHERE!!!
-on the other hand, I have tons of big cleaning getting done that I don't seem to have time to do
-I'm thinking that he should apply to Molly Maid because he really does do a good job
-I hear they make decent money
-anyone need some housecleaning services?
-I'm so excited about our upcoming summer vacation. We finally got it all organized and figured out, but I think I will save all the details for another post.

I'm not getting a lot of scrapping done these days with everything that is going on. So, instead, I'll share a couple of layouts that are sitting in my computer:

This layout was from our ladies trip to Virginia Beach two years ago. This was the morning we were all leaving to come home.

I don't think I've shared this one here yet. It's also from two years ago from our summer vacation to Tennessee. I can't believe how much two years have changed the boys!

  1. I don't know how moms do what you do on a daily basis...it really is the hardest job out there.
I always like your layouts Barb.
Family vacations are a blast, I am trying to get mine out for one soon.

  2. It is a busy time not doubt about it, but I hope you will still enjoy each of the concerts and graduations. In a few years you will look back and somewhat miss them.

as much as I moad and groan about how busy it is right now, I'm savouring every moment because I know that I will miss it all soon enough,

I'm really looking forward to a week hanging out with my family. I don't feel I get to see them often enough.

  5. Feel free to send Matt down my way - I'll give him plenty of opportunities to hone his skills before he applies for Molly Maids.
