Welcome to a day in my life. I can't guarantee that this will be an exciting read for anyone. My life is filled with all the mundane activities of a stay-at-home-mom just trying to raise her three sons to be the best men they can be.

Thirteen memories from my childhood

”thursday-13″

Thirteen toys that I remember from my childhood in the '60s.

What little girl didn't want one of these?

This was may favourite doll (no, this isn't the actual doll). My sister had Chatty Cathy and I had Chatty Baby. I played with her for many hours!

Betsy Wetsy. Remember her? I'm pretty sure one of my sisters had her.

Barrel of Monkeys. What fun!

I dreamed of getting this. I wanted it so badly. Sadly, it just wasn't meant to be so I had to envy all my friends who had one.

Another one of my favourite dolls. Baby Thumbelina. You pulled her string and she wiggled around.

Hours of creative fun with this toy!

I remember playing this many times at a friends house. It was so cool. I never won.

The Partridge Family. (sigh)

Remember this? I can't remember what it was actually called but it played records and played something on the screen.

Still a favourite today! My boys all got one in their stockings this year. Can you sing the commercial?

I only played this once ot twice because we never had it. John tells me it was his favourite growing up.

I loved my Spirograph. It was so cool and so much fun!

  6. Ok... now you've put the slinky jingle in my head! LOL There are lots of those that I remember fondly too. Looks like we didn't play with the same dolls though. I had none of them. Etch-a-sketch and spirograph were big hits at my home. We still had them at my mom's house. My brother kept those when we sold the house a couple of years ago. Thanks for the smile today! =)

  9. What a great list. I was a kid in the 40's & 50's and became a mommy the first time in 1967, so these look more like the stuff my kids played with than me. However, I loved playing with it all with them. :) I loved the spirograph. The kids had the barrell of monkeys. And ofcourse, Operation. No matter how hard I tried not to, I always jumped when it buzzed. LOL Thanks for letting me visit.
