Welcome to a day in my life. I can't guarantee that this will be an exciting read for anyone. My life is filled with all the mundane activities of a stay-at-home-mom just trying to raise her three sons to be the best men they can be.

Bits and Pieces

Here are just some bits and pieces from my life at this moment:

-it was so nice to meet a good friend (Joanne) this week for tea. We went to William's Coffee Pub as we wanted a place that we could sit for a while and chat. We ened up being there for over 2 1/2 hours. It's been way too long since I've seen her and chatted like that. It was great to catch up.
-yesterday I went to my neice, Jennifer's house. They have been trying for a few years now to adopt a baby. It's such a long, drawn out, and emotionally draining time for them. Well, it was well worth the wait. About three weeks ago, their twins were born, and they brought them home a week and a half ago. I was so excited to meet them. They are so adorable, and at just over 5 lbs. I don't think I've ever seen anything so small. (my boys were almost twice that when they were born.) I really enjoyed cuddling them and smelling them. I took lots of pictures, but it will be a couple of weeks before I can show them here, until it becomes a for-sure thing.

-My sister Joanne is in town for holidays and to house hunt. Yes, you read that right!!!! Bruce and Joanne are moving back to Ontario. She has accepted a job in Kingston to run the social programmes for the Salvation Army there. They put in an offer on a house in Kingston and by Thanksgiving they should be all settled in. I'm so excited.

-I got an emial from a friend in Barbaods. Wendy worked for us while we were living there and she was a very important part of our lives there. She was like a second mother to the boys. Anyway, she hopes to be able to come up this way in the Fall for three weeks. It will be the first time she will have seen the boys in 8 and a half years.

-I have managed to do a little scrapbooking over the summer. I've needed to use a different scanner and learn new stitching software because my old scanner and stitching software doesn't want to play with my new laptop. I'm still trying to figure it all out but here are a couple of my recent layouts:

I love reconnecting with good friends. I'm glad you had a chance to do that recently, and it's nice that you'll have a chance to do it again in the fall. Great for the boys too... I'm sure she'll be thrilled to see how nice they've turned out! lol

Great scrapbook pages. I love your work, so I'm glad you figured out the new scanner and software and are sharing your work here! :)
