Welcome to a day in my life. I can't guarantee that this will be an exciting read for anyone. My life is filled with all the mundane activities of a stay-at-home-mom just trying to raise her three sons to be the best men they can be.

Snow Day!

Oh, the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful.
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

I've been singing that song since yesterday. I love a good snow storm! About noon yesterday we started getting a lot of lake effect snow and then the storm moved in over night. It's still snowing slightly so now the dig out begins.

We are all excited today. School is cancelled, John is working from home, and I'm doing what I normally do ... hey, that doesn't seem fair! I think I deserve a snow day too! I'm still in my PJs and that's how I plan on staying. Hopefully I will get some scrapping done today.

I love snow days. The homework is done, the boys are happy, and the housework can wait. I think Matt has it right ... he's still sleeping.

Happy Valentines' Day everyone.
We aren't planning on doing much. I bought a pork roast to do for dinner, The best way to their heart is definately through their stomaches! John gave me a new pair of fuzzy, cozy, PJs. Perfect for today. I think I may go up and put them on.

  1. Joshua, Jonathan and I are enjoying a snow day at home. We just finished watching one of our favorite videos, "What's Up Doc?" starring Barbra Streisand Ryan O'Neal. It's an oldie but goodie.

Dave's office opened two hours late today. Jonathan got to work on time, but they closed at 10AM. Joshua and I didn't have to go anywhere at all. We all just found out that tonight's Band and Songster rehearsals are cancelled too. YIPPEE!!

  2. Snow day? What's that? It's been snowing here non stop for a week but no snow day!! It's been snowing very lightly for a week and it has gradually built up to 27 cm. The city has no concept about snow removal. They just allow it to get packed down by the traffic and wait for the next Chinook. Mean while they go crazy about keeping your side walk clear because of safety but do not do anything about the residential or the less travelled streets. No matter how icy and dangerous they will not clear it away.
It's been below -20C for days. But no snow days. Wow! What a ramble!

Seems like you had a wonderful day planned and that it was too indeed! :D It's so nice to be able to lounge in our pjs without any worries. But that wasn't possible for us over here. No snow day for us even if we had some snow... Oh well... maybe next time!

  4. I loved my snow day. I was ready to walk out the door to work when I got the phone call. Yahoo!

I spent the day doing marking and getting ready for report cards. Too bad the snow day didn't come after my first drafts were done.
