1. I get to actually use my computer in the evening 2. The boys all went swimming together last night 3. They are playing board games together 4. They are reading more 5. Matt has rediscovered his Warhammer game and has begun painting them again. 6. They are in bed earlier (without prompting from me) because apparently there’s nothing else to do. 7. Cameron is happy that his brothers are doing stuff with him 8. Without anything else to do, homework is being done with a lot more care and time. 9. They are being very helpful around the house (in hopes of getting a lighter sentence) 10. Matt has stayed at school to watch some of the sports activities and to talk to his peers (which is a great thing for a child with nonverbal learning disorder) 11. Piano and cornet practises haven't been so rushed 12. I only have to call once for supper 13. My Scraproom (where the computer is) is void of cups, plates, wrappers, crumbs, and empty water bottles. Hmm, I'll have to see if the grounding thing is good. My Leila's too young now, but oh, we shall see.
ReplyDeleteBut the mystery remains: why are they grounded in the first place.
ReplyDeleteI was never grounded. I just had to massive amounts of work inside and outside of the house.
Wow, Barbara! That's impressive. I remember one week when my kids were much younger, we went without TV for a week (that was before we had a computer). We found ourselves doing so much more...but we went right back to TV when the week was over.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my TT!
I'm a huge fan of grounding. I haven't had to use it yet since my kids are eight and ten (which makes them pretty home-bound, already), but I can't wait to spring it on 'em when they are teenagers.
ReplyDeleteUmmmmm... I'm going to think of a reason to ground my two kids... I have a 17 yr old son who will graduate this year and has already enlisted in the Marines and an 11 yr old daughter who sometimes drives me nuts...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and Happy TT! I've got you linked!

Good stuff. Maybe I will ground Nicole every now and then. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteWe should all be so grounded....and in our bathrobes! I especially like the...only have to call once for supper line.
ReplyDeleteI can certainly relate since I have a 16-year old son. According to him, the worst thing possible is to be grounded from all electronics. It works! We rarely have to go that far - he's really a great kid! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou did not tell us why they were grounded?
ReplyDeleteIt sounds very beneficial at your house. It sounds like grounding is quiet fun for the boys at your house.
Have a wonderful Thursday!
