Welcome to a day in my life. I can't guarantee that this will be an exciting read for anyone. My life is filled with all the mundane activities of a stay-at-home-mom just trying to raise her three sons to be the best men they can be.

It's time to Pee!

At some point in time we have to decide to pee or get off the pot, so I think I'm going to pee.
I think it's too difficult for me to just let my blog go. I've been blogging for too many years.
I've appreciated the comments and advice I've gotten about blogging and I have to say that I agree with Glenda and Tracy's take ... my blog is about journaling bits of my life. In the end it's for me, not for anyone else. If others read, great, if not, I have a few years of journaling in one spot.

So, it's time to pee, and it could take a while!

So, what's been going on in the zoo in the past couple of months?

-I went to the Great Lakes Mega Meet with 6 friends in May. For those who don't know, the Mega Meet is a Scrapbooking convention. We went down on Wednesday and came back on Saturday night. It was a blast. some of the classes I took were good, some weren't, but it was a fun time away. We're planning on going again next year.

-the trailer is open for another season. We went up on the Victoria Day long weekend. There were 5 of us - John, myself, Spencer and Katie (the girlfriend), and Cameron. Since Matt works weekends he had to stay home. This was the first May 24 weekend in years that I remember the weather being so fantastic

-my brother and his family are moving back to Ontario and I'm so excited about it. They'll only be about 45 minutes from me too. I can't wait! (now if we could get my other brother, David - and family back here we'd all be together again.)

-I took my parents and my brother Rick (who has Downs Syndrome) up to the trailer for a few days earlier this month. It was so quiet and peaceful. I didn't want to come home.

-Cameron is finished school for another year. Grade 11 here we come.

-Cameron was accepted into the Specialist High Skills Major programme. It's a new initiative by the Ontario Government. "The SHSM enables students to customize their high school experience to suit their interests and talents and prepare for a successful post secondary transition to  college, or university,  while meeting the requirements of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). It's for students in grades 11 and 12. If they know what direction they want to take with their education, it's a good way to prepare for the future. He will take a bundle of credits for the next two years in a certain specialty and when he graduates high school he'll have a little extra something on his diploma to say that he went through this programme. He's always been determined to become an Engineer since he was 6 - so he's specializing in Manufacturing. We're so proud of him. It's going to be a tough couple of years for him.

-we're getting ready to go on our big trip to Brazil. It's a mission trip with the Salvation Army band that we all play in. We're doing some playing while we're there, but mostly we working on a Children's Home building playground equipment. It's going to be a life-changing experience for us all - but especially for the three boys. There's so much to do to get us all ready to go.

-we're getting a complete overhaul of our backyard done right now. We've had landscapers here for a week and a half and they'll be here for at least a week more. I can't wait until it's done! It's going to be great!

-jazz season is in full swing. Cameron has already had a few gigs and has more coming up. We're looking forward to them playing at Queens Park on Canada Day again this year. A highlight for sure.

It's been pretty busy, but this week should be quieter. John is travelling for a few days, and school is done so we're just going to hang out and chill I think. Tomorrow is a girls shopping/lunch day before everyone takes off for the summer. That should be fun!

  4. No wonder you haven't had time to blog, it looks to me like you have been pretty busy! I looked at several of your layouts and they are beautiful! I love the fact that you are using up your old supplies! I have a TON of old stuff that I need to use up and don't feel it's right for me to go out and buy more just so I can say I used the "new" so and so product. My family doesn't know if it came out last week or 10 years ago, they just want to see their photos decorated! Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog! Love Penny
