Welcome to a day in my life. I can't guarantee that this will be an exciting read for anyone. My life is filled with all the mundane activities of a stay-at-home-mom just trying to raise her three sons to be the best men they can be.

Friday Fragments

I've been one busy girl this week. Painting, painting, painting. I painted the basement family room. Today the plan is to do the trim down there. Next week will be the guest room.

Today is Remembrance Day in Canada. I always get choked up. Today is no different. I will be remembering all the men and women who have fought so that we can have the freedoms we have.

As much as I don't want to eat McDonald's and know what it's doing to my body, sometimes it's soooooo good.

Cameron is on the Robotics Team at school again this year. Yesterday after school they were doing some machine maintenance and cleaning. I don't know what chemicals they were using, but by the time he got home he was feeling sick and then he threw up. He spent the rest of the afternoon and evening in bed. He's feeling much better this morning.

Big news in Toronto - Toronto is the most hated city by other Canadians. Wow. Although I've heard this before, I still don't understand why. I love Toronto.

We need to get the outdoor Christmas lights up this weekend. I really don't want to be doing it when the weather turns really cold. It's supposed to be around 14 degrees C so now's the time.

Do you have a lot of random fragments floating around in your head and want to unload them? Join Friday Fragments and get them out of your head.

  1. Maybe Cameron's school should provide masks for the kids to wear while cleaning the robots.

  2. Maybe Stephen and Gayle can chime in on the "hating Toronto" thing. I love Toronto, too, but after living in Winnipeg for 7 years, I understand how Canadians-not-from-Toronto feel. Speaking about Canadian culture broadly, Canadian news, etc., often seems dominated by what's happening in Toronto. Lots of Canadians outside of Toronto aren't at all interested in where Toronto's mayor ate dinner last night, or what new office building was erected on Yonge St. To non-Torontonians, there really is life outside the big city. And within The Salvation Army, I recall reading documents from THQ that were written with an obvious bias toward Toronto, the apparent assumption being that officers, etc., were chomping at the bit for a chance to live in TO. It seems to many non-Torontonians that the attitude is something like, "there's Toronto - the center of the Canadian universe - and then there's The Rest of Canada - Toront's red-headed step-sister."

  3. Robotics club sounds like something my son would be interested in... no let me correct that, it IS something he is interested in. Wonder what made Cameron sick?

Never been to Toronto, but I'm sure it's lovely.

  4. I still think it's totally cool that Cameron is into building things like robots. It's more a a male brain thing I believe, there are exceptions of course. DH figures things out, tinkers/fixes/makes things. I don't have the patience to figure it all out....I just want stuff to work when I want to use them.
Do you love the fries at McD's? Not my first or fifth choice of places to eat but the fries as sooooo good!

  5. You ARE a busy girl. I bet the family room looks nice. Everything always looks fresh and new after it's been painted. Good luck with the Christmas lights. We are putting up our's this weekend too!

  6. I am from Toronto and I can understand why the city is disliked.

  7. I like to treat myself to McDonald's too. When I was a kid, it was my favorite place to eat! I still love their milkshakes!

  8. Wonder why Canadians hate Toronto? It's definitely on my list of places to visit!
    Sometimes you've just gotta have McDonald's, don't you? :D

  9. I'm not liking that Cameron felt so bad after class. Seriously, what kind of fumes was he ingesting? I hope that doesn't happen again.

Speaking of fumes, I am impressed by all your painting. Just the thought of it makes me tired.

  10. One of the best things about having a house that's set back in the woods is that no one could see lights if we put them up. Instead, we put red and green recessed lights in the porch lights.

Haven't head about the hating on Toronto. My husband's company has a factory there, and he's never mentioned it. Maybe it's an urban legend.

Thanks for linking up! Have a great weeekend.
