Welcome to a day in my life. I can't guarantee that this will be an exciting read for anyone. My life is filled with all the mundane activities of a stay-at-home-mom just trying to raise her three sons to be the best men they can be.

A must hear interview on Nonverbal Learning Disorder

Sera Rivers is the mother of a child with Nonverbal Learning Disorder. She did a radio interview on NLD. If you're interested in listening  it's here. It's a long interview, but it's very informative. It really explains NLD like I've never heard before.  I really wish I had of heard this years ago when we first got Matt's diagnosis.

Listen to internet radio with The Coffee Klatch on Blog Talk Radio

  1. WOW there seems that some cases of NLD can have many symptoms. As the host kept saying to Sera....it must have been VERY difficult to diagnose and for parents to help a child with NLD.

Super moms and dads out there and you are one of them Barb.

  2. Hi Barbara,
That was very interesting. The comment, "You are your child's best advocate" summed up the advice nicely. I have also found this to be true in helping our daughter who has quite a few learning deficits.

I think I caught the comment that NLD is affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. I find this very interesting, as our twin daughters have epilepsy which originates in the temporal and frontal lobes, and they had quite a bit of trouble understanding/remembering consequences.

    Thanks for the interesting link.
