Welcome to a day in my life. I can't guarantee that this will be an exciting read for anyone. My life is filled with all the mundane activities of a stay-at-home-mom just trying to raise her three sons to be the best men they can be.

Hello from the road

We are having a fantastic time. Currently I'm sitting in a laundry mat waiting for my close to be de-smelled in Jasper. What a wonderful thing, this internet! No matter where I am in the world I can be in contact!

So far we have crammed in a lot of things into the space of a week. We spent three nights up at a campground called David Thompson Resort which is up in the vacinity of the Columbia Ice Fields. While STephen, Gayle and family camped, we rented an on-site trailer that was big enough to accomodate all of us. There we did lots of driving and site seeing in the area. The mountains are just so breathtaking!

On our way to Jasper, we made a stop at the Columbia Ice Fields where we got to actually walk on a glacier. It was so cool to know that the ice beneath our feet fell as snow over 400 years ago. Hard to fathom. The boys loved it there!

We have spent four nights in Jasper. We have hiked a few times to different places, one being another glacier where we spent some time around a glacier lake. Another very cool place that the boys loved! We have done some white-water rafting (nothing too rough as we had all the kids with us)and shopping. I definately have to come back here and spend more time.

One day as we were driving into the townsite there were lots of elk just grazing on the side of the road. We got out and took lots of pictures. We were so close to them and they didn't even seem to notice.

Today we leave here to head into BC to the Canyon Hot Springs. We will spend a week there. I can't believe how fast time is going. ...but I'm enjoying every minute of it.

The best part, of course, is that I get to spend all this time with family. Can life get any better than this?

Lots of pictures to share when I get back!

  1. Doing laundry...what a joy. But necessary. Evie and I would love to get to Jasper and go camping. Enjoy your time.

  2. Alberta is gorgeous. I can't wait to see your photos.

We just got back from our camping trip a couple of hours ago. On the day I did the laundry, Dave decided it was time to do the trailer dump. I'm not crazy about laundry, but I'm pretty sure I got the least disgusting chore on that day.

  3. Before you head back you need to get Stephen and Gayle each set up with their own blogs.

An officer friend of ours did a daily blog on ministry before his appointment to Australia. It was read by many officers in the East, and some in the South. Stephen may find a short pastoral blog two or three times a week to be a valuable tool.
