Welcome to a day in my life. I can't guarantee that this will be an exciting read for anyone. My life is filled with all the mundane activities of a stay-at-home-mom just trying to raise her three sons to be the best men they can be.

Wanna see the new trailer?

I've had some people asking me to post pics of the new trailer. I managed to get some, but they aren't great.

So, this is the floor plan.

This is standing at the door looking left at the kitchen area. Through the brown door on the left is the bathroom and our bedroom.
The main room is on a slide out which makes it much bigger. Now three of us can be working in the kitchen at the same time.
This is from the kitchen looking the other way. Through that door is the bunk house. Behind the door are two bunks and on the right side is a small dinette table that folds down for a third bed. The boys are quite happy wieht this because as you can see they have a TV in there and their Wii as well.
Sorry. If I knew you were coming I would have cleaned up a little.
The bathroom is through the door (it's the whole width of the trailer with a descent sized tub in it) and then through that is our bedroom which I don't have a picture of. (basically it's just a bed with a wardrobe on each side. Not a lot of room to move around in there, but at least we have our own space.)
The trailer from the outside. That monster of a deck took two days to put back together and in place. It was worth it, though, right John????
From the back. That hammock has been the desired spot to lay and do nothing or read. We've all made good use of it!
Looking from the deck. Our new spot backs onto the camp. The trailer park is part of the Salvation Army camp. The boys (and I) attend Music Camp every summer. Spencer will bo going to Senior Music Camp on Saturday. We love the site because we have the forest right there, and lots of privacy. The campers never come back that far as it's out of bounds, and yet we can hear them. We really love the new site.
The sites are small, but we love our neighbours so it's OK.
Being at the camp I feel totally secure and don't have to worry about the boys' safety. Cameron can go out and wander on his own.

Some recent layouts

I've actually had a little time this summer to scrapbook. There have been a couple of rainy days at the trailer and a couple of days that I just felt like staying inside and scrapbooking. Gotta love the days when that happens. The boys didn't even seem to care much as they were so involved in their Wii.
Here are some of my latest creations:
This layout was done for the Cherished Scrapbooks Design Team. We had to use a Becky Fleck sketch for the layout. It was a little out of my comfort zone!

This was a fast and easy one done with scraps.

I had a lot of fun with these pictures. My brother David wore his cowboy hat to the wedding and we had a lot of fun with him and the hat. I love pictures that make me smile when everytime I look at them. The layout is a scraplift.

Our Long Weekend

We spent the long weekend in Ottawa. We went up to visit our very dear friends, the MacKays. We met Barb, Vern, Emily and Martin when we moved to Barbados 12 years ago and they quickly became our best friends ... well, more like family. It doesn't matter how much time has past, when we are together, it's like we are in Barbados again. Time and distance hasn't changed our relationship.

They have a very nice home just outside Ottawa right by the Ottawa River. Around the corner is Barb's parents' cottage. The boys spent some time down by the river, swimming and fishing. The first couple of times out fishing Cameron didn't catch anything. Then Uncle Vern took him out in the row boat to a "good spot" and he caught a bass. He was very happy about that. They brought it home and cooked it up for breakfast.

The kids all enjoyed swimming in the river, except Matt. He made use of the row boat and had us all a little nervous when he started drifting in the current.

The highlight of the weekend was on Sunday when we all went paintballing. We've never been before and it took some convincing to get Barb to go, but she did. It was a blast. The first coupld of games we played parents against the kids. The kids liked this idea because they were sure that they would get us. Were they ever shocked when we totally creamed them in the first game. We picked them all off and they didn't get us at all. The other games were family against family and then mixed up when we had three others join us. It was so much fun. We all came home with big bruises and a lot of laughs. It's not every day you get to kill your kids or your spouse.
Thanks to the MacKays. We had a great weekend and I can't wait to do it again. (you know, there are some paintball places around here too ... and some indoor ones for the winter months ...hint, hint!)

Finally checking in!

It's been over a month since I've posted anything. Wow! Time hasn't stood still for a minute for me to catch a breath. I can't beleive that the summer is half over already! I'm just starting to feel like I can relax and enjoy it.

So much has gone on in the last month. Some of you already know what I've been up to:

-school finished. We were all happy about that.

-as soon as school was out we packed up and headed for the trailer. We enjoyed the long Canada Day weekend settling into the new trailer. On the Monday there was the big, annual, Canada Day picnic at the camp for all the Salvation Army Churches in our division. This year, we entered a team into the ball tournament ... we didn't do very well, but it was fun. Afterwards, we all went over to the trailer for a BBQ.

-after a few days at the trailer we had to come home and pack up for Music Camp

-music camp was fun, as usual. Cameron was a camper, I was a counsellor, and Spencer was a Junior Faculty (which means he helps out with all the different programmes and gets his volunteer hours.) There was the usual water fights which culminated in a huge lynching of a few of the staff members - myself included, who was dragged from my cozy cabin while in my PJs at 1 in the morning to be soaked with the fire hose! Man, was that cold!

-the week after music camp my grandmother passed away and I spent the week in Bracebridge with my parents and my mom's family helping in whatever way I could. I couldn't do much, but I know that my mom appreciated me being there for support. It was nice to be able to spend some time with my family and walking down memory lane. On the morning of the funeral, four of us went by my Grandmother's old house (where we spent a lot of time in the summer) to take som pictures. The property was on the river, so we used to have a great time when we went there.

-after that we spent the entire week at the trailer doing nothing more than relaxing on the beach, relaxing at the pool, relaxing in the hammock, and sleeping on the couch. It was a wonderful week of doing nothing. ... well, we did one day trip to the zoo. I just got the pictures back from the zoo. It's funny because you don't see things like they really are when you are looking through a lens. Check out this picture of Cameron being a ham. Take a good look. (warning ... do not place any liquids to your mouth as you are doing so.)

...and two more pics of some of the other monkeys in the family:
